Rickey is in his 17th year of ministry in the local church having served congregations in North Carolina, Kentucky and Georgia prior to coming to Laurens. A native of Alabama, Rickey is a graduate of Samford University (BA in Religion) and The Duke Divinity School (MDIV). Rickey enjoys all aspects of ministry and is particularly passionate about building relationships, helping people to grow in their faith and sharing God’s love through involvement in our community. Rickey and his wife Ann Marie, a Commercial Interior Designer, have two children, Callie and Caleb. Rickey enjoys reading, working around the house, travel and all sports. Adair is enjoying her 20th year of service at First Baptist, Laurens. She is a native of Virginia but spent most of her growing up years in Clinton, SC, where her father served as the pastor of First Baptist Church, Clinton. She is a graduate of Furman University (BA in Music Education) and Erskine Theological Seminary (Master of Church Music). Adair is passionate about helping children (and adults) develop and use their God given gifts, especially in the area of music. She and her husband, Alex, have been married for 30 years, and they are the proud parents of two grown children, Dean, a graduate of Clemson University, who lives in Boulder, CO, and Ali, also a Clemson graduate, who lives in Dallas, TX. Minister of Education
Tommy is a native of Laurens and is a graduate of Presbyterian College (BS in Psychology). He has served as the Youth and Recreation Minister at FBC Laurens for 15 years. Prior to entering the ministry, Tommy served for 13 years as a Prevention/Education Consultant with the SC Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, directing many leadership and community development projects at the state and local levels. Tommy enjoys all aspects of ministry, but gets particularly excited about leadership development and small groups ministry. . Tommy and his wife Kena, a school teacher, have two daughters, Kelsey and Kailey. Tommy enjoys playing golf, watching college football, writing, and spending time with family and friends. Minister of Youth & Recreation
Carl is a native of Alabama, growing up in Opelika and then Hoover. He graduated from Samford University, where he played baseball, then worked in the business world for 15 years before feeling called into Youth Ministry. He earned a Masters in Christian Education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and began serving his first church at the age of 38. Carl is passionate about youth and leading them to a Christ-Centered life. He focuses on building relationships so that students are certain of his love and concern for them, which then enables him to speak God’s truth into their lives. Community is significant to Carl and he stays involved in numerous events and organizations in order to be a part of people’s lives and hopefully to shine the light of Christ. Carl is married to Suzanne, an Academic Advisor at Laurens 55 High School, and they have two sons, Kyle and Jay, both students at the University of Georgia. Carl enjoys watching and playing lots of sports; fishing; video games; cheering for Auburn; studying Youth Culture; and mostly doing anything where he is spending time with his youth!

Director of Children’s Ministries & Kindergarten
Elizabeth is a native of Laurens and is a 2002 graduate of the University of South Carolina. Upon graduation, she worked five years as a Paralegal and managed the real estate department of a law firm in Greenville, SC. Elizabeth became a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her first child. She has devoted much of her time volunteering and in 2010, joined the Kindergarten staff of First Baptist Church. Having grown up in this church, Elizabeth has a special love and passion for children and is excited to now be a part of the church who has been so instrumental in her own spiritual growth. Elizabeth and her husband, Kevin, have been married for 14 years, and have two children, Brock and Marett. Elizabeth is very active in the community serving on the PTA at E.B. Morse Elementary School, School Improvement Council, District Advisory Committee, and First Steps board. Tana is in her 11th year as Ministers’ Secretary at First Baptist. Having grown up in this church, she appreciates the continuity of the generations while at the same time welcoming the energy and fresh ideas of new members. Biggest perk of her job: having the opportunity to chat with our youth and children when they stop by her office for Skittles. Tana has three grown children and three grandchildren of whom she is very proud. Kathy is licensed by the state of South Carolina as a Professional Counselor and as a Marriage and Family therapist; she is also an approved supervisor for these credentials. She grew up in Simpsonville and graduated from Mars Hill College (BS) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.). Kathy is in her 27th year of work as a therapist, and has been working in the Fireside Room at FBC one day each week for the past 14 years. Kathy’s other office is located at Baptist Medical Center Park, on John Street in Easley, S.C. It is her joy to get weekly updates on the work of the Holy Spirit at Laurens First Baptist on Thursday mornings. Kathy and her husband David have a son Will, a senior at Clemson and a daughter Mara a junior at Easley High School.
