Wednesday Nights (beginning January 10)
Red Letter Prayers: The Prayers of Jesus– will explore the prayers of Jesus and what these prayers tell us about the heart of God. Through witnessing the most intimate moments between the Father and the Son, we can learn something about the big plan that God has for our lives. Tommy Cox will lead this 10-week study each Wednesday at 6pm in the Conference Room.
The Book of Job – Reflections on Suffering – How did Job cope with the suffering that he endured? How do we as people of faith today respond to and deal with our own times of suffering, heartbreak and the unexplainable pains of life. Rickey will lead the study each week at 6pm in Bobo Hall.
Mens & Women’s Small Groups
Our Sunday Night and Tuesday Morning Men’s Groups will begin a study on The Beatitudes. This study will explore the eight qualities that bring God’s blessing. Jesus highlighted these to offer us encouragement and instruction on living distinctly. This study will explore how we integrate these qualities to receive the blessings that Jesus promises. Tommy Cox will lead both groups. The Sunday night group meets at 6pm beginning January 14 and the Tuesday group meets at 7am, starting January 16.
Our Tuesday Men’s Lunch Group will study What Does God Require? This book, focused on Micah 6:8, invites us to think about the three expectations of God that this verse in Micah focuses on – justice, kindness and humility. Micah 6:8 will also be the basis for worship at FBC in January. Rickey will lead the group which meets at Noon, beginning January 16.
New Women’s Study coming in January 2018: Freedom for Mothers by Denise Glenn. This eight-week study, based on John 15, will take you through a journey into God’s Word to discover the fullness and freedom you can experience as a woman and as a mother. Kate Orcutt will lead this study, and the cost of the workbook is $15. Please note: The start date for the study has been moved to January 28, 2018. Register today by contacting the church office or by signing up on the pew pad.
