Habitat for Humanity Workdays
We are offering workdays on Thursdays & Saturdays in September, 8am- I 2pm, as we assist our Laurens County Habitat for Humanity and LDHS in completing a new Habitat home in Laurens. We will be inviting Sunday School classes to sponsor specific days, but, we also have spots for individuals. So, if you would like to volunteer on a specific date, please contact the church office, sign up on the pew pads or see Bill Craig or Joel Jacks.
Haiti Mission Trip
January 21-27, 2017
We have a job for YOU in Haiti! January 21-27 is our next trip to Haiti. If you have ever thought about going on a mission trip, we would love for you to consider going with us in January! There is something for EVERYONE to do! We will be building a house, teaching a class to young mothers about good nutrition for their babies, working in the dental and medical clinics, helping run water lines up the mountain, playing with the children in the orphanage, helping families plant gardens, holding and loving little babies, and telling people about Jesus as well as showing how much Jesus loves them through the love WE show them!
If you’re not able to go with us, you can pray for us! You can also make a contribution toward the house that we will be building. We can build a house for a family in Haiti for $5,830. Please be in prayer about how YOU can be a part of making a difference for the people in Haiti. If you are interested, call Adair for more information.
Also, many of the people we work with in Haiti have no shoes or shoes that are so old that they have them tied on or taped onto their feet. Sandals and flip flops are the most popular shoes in Haiti because of the heat. As the summer is coming to an end, if you run across sandals and flip flops on sale, please consider buying some for us to take to Haiti. We need adult and children’s sizes!
Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions
It’s only September, but, our Missions Committee wants to go ahead and make you aware of our goal for this year’s Christmas Offering to support the work of Baptist Missionaries around the world. This year our FBC Goal is $50,000. That’s right – $50,000. This is a grand, yet we believe, reachable goal for our congregation. Please begin to pray about how God would have you to participate in this offering that we receive at the end of the year.
