Psalm 33
The Bible is a sacred, holy, inspired work of art, passed down from generations of believers as they sought, searched, and listened for the Spirit of the Living God. The Bible is a collection of voices, each staring into the great mystery of God and transcribing what they saw. The Bible is inspired enough that we can return to it even centuries later and still pull truth from its roots. The Bible is a God-breathed, God-inspired, living document that moves us closer to the Divine. And so is God’s creation.
God’s creation is a sacred, holy, inspired work of art, passed down from generations of believers as they sought, searched, and listened for the Spirit of the Living God. Furthermore, creation is a collection of voices, each staring into the great mysteries of God and transcribing what they see. Creation is an inspired, authoritative presence that reminds us that it too has been cultivated by humans and infused by the Holy Spirit. It is inspired enough that we can return to it even centuries later and pull truth from its literal roots. Creation is a God-breathed, God-inspired, living ecosystem that moves us closer to the Divine.
See what I did there? I’m not trying to be cheeky with my words, but I do believe that what is true and authoritative about the Bible is true and authoritative about creation. I think King David agrees:
By the word of the LORD the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathered the waters of the sea as in a bottle;
he put the deeps in storehouses. (vv. 6-7)
