The history of First baptist church laurens

Since 1834, First Baptist Church Laurens has gathered in this same spot for the purpose of worship, ministry, missions and fellowship. Central to our deep heritage is our focus on worship, life-changing Bible study, and a variety of ministries.

Today, First Baptist Church is a vibrant congregation with over 800 active members. Led by five full-time ministers, we host a variety of weekly services, studies and activities for all age groups. Each of our ministries uniquely allows for individuals to deepen their relationship with God and to serve our community and world.

Our Sunday Worship service blends elements from both traditional and contemporary styles including hymns straight from the hymnals, contemporary choruses, responsive readings and video illustrations. We often have sermon series with emphasis on the seasons of the Christian year as well as sermons that are timely for the world in which we live. Our hope is you will take what you hear within our our church walls to impact the world through local, state, national and international mission opportunities.

We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF), collaborating with local congregations of various denominations.
